PART# 1151 - Needle bearing center ($16.70)

Live center, spring loaded, hardened 60 degree center

The needle bearing center has a rotating center that not only provides rigidity but allows the user to turn the supported workpiece at a high rotational speed. The hardened center point shaft is supported and rotates in two bearings inside the 3 3/4 inch needle bearing center body.

To use the needle bearing center the user removes the tailstock spindle and replaces it with the live center, both shafts are ground to the same diameter (.497). The center spindle then is locked into place with the screw on top of the tailstock body.The workpiece should have a small center drilled in the end so that the spring loaded point can center in it.
